An Introduction to Ayurveda
Ayurveda, meaning “Life Science”, is a 5,000 year old healing system, originating in India, that uses diet, lifestyle practices and herbal medicine to align the mind, body and spirit together. It incorporates modern developments and techniques with ancient wisdom that is designed to help humans live long, healthy, well-balanced lives.
Known as the sister science to yoga, ayurveda does not manage symptoms, but rather treats the root cause of disease. It is a personalized healing system that understands the unique qualities of each patient. Ayurveda is rooted in the 5 great elements, 10 opposing qualities and the 3 doshas. It is through these fundamental components that we can understand how to bring balance and harmony into our lives.
In this workshop we will discover our own dosha, basic ayurvedic qualities and elements, sustainable daily practices to support the balance of your individual constitution, elemental treatments, and the primordial cause that all disease is rooted in.
